INTERNSHIPS
Every year, Avanza offers various intern positions for students currently in their final year of Translation, Interpreting or Masters’ I and II.
Placements are academic, not for employment, and interns must be currently studying as part of the internship agreement reached with the University.
We accept students from both Spanish universities and abroad.
Minimum requirements are:
- To be matriculated in the academic year of the internship
- Fluency in Spanish at the advanced level for speaking and writing
- Be enrolled in studies related to Translation or applied linguistics and have performed translation of texts during the first years of their degree.
- Able to travel: internships are in Avanza offices.
Objectives of the internship:
- The main objective is to provide the student with experience, organisational ability, time management skills and exposure to new technologies and terminology during the course of the internship, providing a general vision of the day to day work of a translation agency.
Interns will work with a range of texts, in a variety of fields with different language combinations.
Internship application procedure:
The student must send an application by e-mail with their CV, providing details of their experience in translation both inside and outside the university environment.
Applications must be received at least 45 days before the date requested by the student to begin their internship, for students in Spain and 90 days for students from abroad.
Upon acceptance of the application and the proposed internship period, minimum duration of 2 months, they must apply to the university for the approval of an internship agreement by all parties.
Upon reception of the internship agreement, Avanza Traducciones will forward the agreement to the university for approval by the Dean.
The student will be responsible to arrange their accommodation and transportation to the workplace.
